For Employees

No change can come if those who are impacted the most by discrimination are not willing to stand up for themselves. — Zainab Salbi

Employees contact us because they feel frustrated, angry, betrayed, indignant, burned out, and/or unfairly backed into a corner at work. Often they don’t know exactly which laws their employer is breaking. But, they can describe what they’re experiencing at work as well as the growing conviction that something is not right. This is exactly the time to reach out to this office.

In California, workers enforce employment laws. We protect ourselves and each other by demanding that employers follow the law. This office is here for you if you (like me) are bad at accepting intolerably unfair situations. If someone needs to stand up to power, and you look around and realize that you are that someone, please reach out and introduce yourself.

It’s normal to be scared, but it’s important not to let fear drive your decisions.

If you are considering speaking to an attorney about a problem at work, that’s a very good sign that you should speak to an attorney about your problem at work.
